Roman Yermolychev: Parents of Newborn Children must Receive in Time and without any Delay a One-Time Support "Baby Box" or Respective Payments

One-time in-kind support "Baby Box" is targeted assistance to families of newborn children. Therefore, they must receive it in time and without any delay.

This was emphasized by Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolychev during a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy and UNICEF on the provision of one-time in-kind support "Baby Box" in 2020 and the resolution of the issues of providing this assistance to parents of children born after October 24 to December 31, 2020.

During the meeting, the purchase of goods for the provision of one-time in-kind assistance «Baby Box» was discussed, in particular the possibility of such procurement with the help of an international technical assistance project.

According to Roman Yermolychev, it is important to comply with Ukrainian legislation and prevent the misuse of state budget funds. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent all the risks that may arise during the necessary procurement.

On November 25, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "Some issues of providing a child at birth with one-time in-kind support "Baby Box ". According to the resolution, children born from October 24, 2020 to July 1, 2021 inclusive must be provided with a "Baby Box" within 30 days of birth. Since July 1, 2021, parents will have the right to choose between a one-time in-kind support "Baby Box" or monetary compensation of the cost of this assistance.
