Denys Shmyhal and Sergii Marchenko met with the White House Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics 

During the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with White House Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics, co-chair of the Multi-Agency Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine Michael Pyle. 

The parties discussed cooperation within the framework of the Donor Coordination Platform as well as the implementation of the plan for the rapid and large-scale recovery of Ukraine.

In particular, they raised the issue of raising funds for rapid recovery. According to the RDNA2 report of the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank, the European Commission and the UN, Ukraine needs USD 14.1 billion in 2023. The total cost of the country's recovery is estimated at USD 411 billion.

"Ukraine faces a long way to carry out its recovery and we hope that the Donor  Coordination Platform will play an important role in mobilizing resources for the country's reconstruction," said Sergii Marchenko.

In addition, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine added that the priority of the Government of Ukraine is to ensure the coordinated, transparent and accountable use of financial support.

Michael Pyle reiterated his intention to cooperate closely with the Government of Ukraine, in particular within the framework of the Platform, to attract and coordinate the necessary resources.

The Multi-Agency Donor Coordination Platform started its work on January 26, when the first meeting of its Steering Committee was held. The second meeting of the Platform was held on April 5. 

The initiative was launched to coordinate existing and new mechanisms to support Ukraine's budget, as well as rapid recovery and reconstruction.
