This year, the state budget has allocated more than UAH 100 billion to ensure an appropriate educational process and start of the school year in secondary schools.
The state budget for 2021 provides:
- UAH 99.6 billion to pay teachers' salaries by providing communities with an educational subvention.
These funds are provided for payment in full following the statutory size of salaries for more than 480 thousand teachers;
- UAH 1.0 billion for the purchase of laptops for teachers to conduct distance learning classes;
With these funds educational institutions will be able to buy almost 60 thousand laptops;
- UAH 1.0 billion for the purchase of modern furniture and teaching tools for the New Ukrainian School;
These resources can be used by the educational institutions to purchase equipment for 85.7 thousand elementary school classes and 258 classes of secondary education institutions, which are participants of the all-Ukrainian innovative educational project "Development and implementation of teaching materials for institutions of general secondary education in terms of implementing the State standard of basic secondary education" with more than 1.7 million students.
- UAH 0.4 billion for professional development of about 23 thousand teachers;
- UAH 1.0 billion for the formation of a new educational space, safe and inclusive educational environment in institutions of general secondary education, reconstruction, and repair of buildings under the program "Mighty School for Better Results".
More than half a thousand schools will be renovated by the means of these resources.
Today there is more than UAH 260 million in the local budgets for co-financing of the above programs.
- UAH 0.5 billion to provide quality education for children with special educational needs.
These funds will be used to provide education to more than 30 thousand children.
The accounts of local budgets, as of 01.08.2021, the balance of educational subventions is UAH 7.7 billion, subventions from the state budget to local budgets for state support for persons with special educational needs amounts to UAH 0.3 billion.
The balances of these subventions can be used by local governments to improve the material and technical base of educational institutions.
Thus, local self-government bodies have a sufficient resource for the proper organization of the educational process, provided that rational decisions are made promptly. The Government cares that the educational process is properly supported by financial resources for the payment of teachers' salaries, equipping institutions of general secondary education with modern learning tools, and taking place in safe conditions in case of strengthening of quarantine measures.
