Ukraine Received about USD 100 Million from Japan Under a Loan Agreement on Concessional Terms

Today, May 24, 2022, Ukraine received 13 billion yen (USD 100 million) under the loan agreement recently signed by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko and President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Dr. Akihiko Tanaka. The agreement is the first part of the agreed financial assistance between Ukraine and Japan.

The loan is issued on concessional terms: maturity period - 30 years; interest rate - 1% per annum.

The funds will be directed to the state budget to finance priority expenses, to support the most unprotected population of Ukraine, in particular, to ensure priority social and humanitarian expenses, and health care.
