The European Commission announced a proposal to provide Macro-Financial Assistance to Ukraine of EUR 18 billion in 2023

Today, November 9, 2022, the European Commission announced a proposal to provide additional financial support to Ukraine by launching a new program of Macro-Financial Assistance in 2023 in the amount of EUR 18 billion. 

The proposal of the European Commission should be additionally approved by the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament. 

“Ukraine needs predictable and stable external financing to maintain macroeconomic stability next year. We are sincerely grateful to our partners from the European Commission for supporting Ukraine and understanding the urgent needs of our country. The new program of financial assistance to Ukraine will help ensure priority social and humanitarian expenditures of the State Budget of Ukraine”, said Minister of finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko. 

EU Macro-Financial Assistance will certainly contribute to the further maintenance of an acceptable level of financial stability in Ukraine.

On October 18, 2022, Ukraine received EUR 2 billion as part of the exceptional program of Macro-Financial Assistance of the EU.
