Ukraine received the tenth tranche of large-scale Macro-Financial Assistance from the EU in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion

Today, on 22 November, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has attracted the tenth tranche of the EU's large-scale Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA+) for 2023 in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion.

In 2023, the State Budget of Ukraine has already received EUR 16.5 billion of concessional loans from the MFA+. The total amount of funding under the programme is EUR 18 billion.

It is expected that Ukraine will receive the last tranche of MFA+ for 2023 by the end of December this year, provided that Ukraine meets the structural policy conditions agreed by the parties.

"The European Union is one of the key donors of financial assistance to Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the total amount of budget support has reached EUR 23.7 billion. Macro-Financial Assistance is directed to finance the priority expenditures of the State Budget, which allows us to maintain macroeconomic stability in the turbulent conditions of martial law", said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

The financing under the MFA+ is provided on concessional terms: the loan has a 35-year repayment period, and the EU countries will compensate interest and other debt service payments instead of Ukraine.
