Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko: "Further Economic Growth is Expected in Ukraine"

Further economic growth is expected in Ukraine. Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko has said about this in an interview with "Liviy Bereg".

"After a significant downturn in the Q1 and the Q2, the economy showed a recovery in the Q3. This trend continues in the Q4, and next year the economy is projected to grow by 4.6%.

The economy will grow even if maintaining the indicators of the Q3 and Q4 of the current year, including exports and imports, production and consumption. However, we expect more positive changes", Sergii Marchenko stressed.

He noted that there are grounds for optimistic expectations by the results of the second half of the year: “We are talking about indicators of retail trade, electricity consumption, as well as the dynamics of recovery. There is no growth in industrial production yet, but the dynamics has significantly improved compared with the Q1 and the two-month COVID quarantine", the Minister stressed.

According to him, the revenue part of the 2021 budget is supported by detailed calculations.

"These are real funds that the state plans to receive next year. This can be done, in particular, by combating the "shadow" sector", said the Minister of Finance.
