State Debt in October 2020: the Share of the State Debt in National Currency Increased

As of the end of October 2020, the total state and state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine amounted to UAH 2,368.18 billion or USD 83.27 billion, including:  the state and state-guaranteed external debt - UAH 1,450.27 billion (61.24% of the total amount of the state and state-guaranteed debt) or USD 51.00 billion; the state and state-guaranteed domestic debt - UAH 917.92 billion (38.76%) or USD 32.28 billion. At the end of October 2020, the share of the state debt in national currency increased to 37.2%.

During October, the Ministry of Finance held four Domestic government bond auctions placement, raising UAH 20.8 billion to finance the state budget, of which USD 188 million was raised in foreign currency.

Expenditures on state debt repayments in October 2020 amounted to UAH 6.9 billion, while state debt service payments amounted to UAH 6.1 billion.

It should be noted, in Q2 2020, the state debt to GDP ratio was 50.8%, while the state and state-guaranteed debt to GDP was 57.6%.
