Parliament Supported the Establishment of a new Customs Tariff of Ukraine

Classification, description, additional units of measurement and accounting of several goods have been changed. The relevant decision was made by the Parliament of Ukraine on June 4, 2020 during the approving of the new Customs Tariff of Ukraine in the first reading and as a whole. At the same time, the rates of import duty on goods remain unchanged.

The Customs Tariff is based on the version of the Ukrainian classification of goods for foreign economic activity, created on the basis of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System of 2017 and the Combined Nomenclature of the European Union, taking into account the obligations under the World Trade Organization.

The main objectives of the Law, except for the harmonization of legislation, are the introduction of the possibility of comparing customs statistics of Ukraine and the trading-partner countries and the standardization of foreign trade documentation. In addition, the document is aimed, in particular, at eliminating differences in the product codes of the exporting countries and Ukraine. This will facilitate and speed up the implementation of customs procedures during the customs clearance of imported goods.
