Sergii Marchenko held a meetings with representatives of EU governments in Stockholm

During the working visit to Stockholm, Sweden, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko held several meetings with representatives of the EU governments.

In particular, with Swedish Minister for EU Affairs Jessika Roswall and Minister of Finance of Finland Annika Virpi Irene Saarikko.

The parties discussed the deepening of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union on the way to Ukraine's EU membership, as well as the mobilization of resources for the rapid recovery of Ukraine.

During the meeting with Jessica Roswall, Sergii Marchenko thanked Sweden for its comprehensive support during the war.

"By holding the EU Council Presidency in 2023, Sweden demonstrates its principled support for Ukraine. I would also like to thank you for the financial assistance in the amount of EUR 44.7 million since the start of the full-scale invasion," the Minister of Finance of Ukraine said.

The parties also discussed the issue of financing mechanisms for the rapid recovery. In particular, the new initiative of the World Bank - the URTF (Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund). The Fund was established to attract donor funding for reconstruction and recovery projects in Ukraine.

During the meeting with Annika Saarikko, the parties discussed the potential expansion of cooperation between the Ministries of Finance of Ukraine and Finland.

Sergii Marchenko noted that consolidated donor support in financing Ukraine's budgetary needs and rapid recovery will help to accelerate the country's economic development and achieve sustainable GDP growth.

The Minister of Finance of Ukraine also thanked Finland for the financial assistance of USD 21 million in 2023 provided through the World Bank Trust Fund under the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance (PEACE) Project.
