Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Government of the Netherlands has allocated about EUR 300 million to the State Budget of Ukraine

Today, on 1 February, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko held an online meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Finance of the Netherlands, Steven van Weyenberg.

The meeting was also attended dy Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Olga Zykova and Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa.

Sergii Marchenko expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Netherlands for its strong financial, humanitarian and military support for Ukraine.

"Since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the Government and people of the Netherlands have been providing crucial and comprehensive assistance to Ukraine. The EUR 300 million of direct budgetary support has made a significant contribution to ensuring macro-financial stability in times of uncertainty," the Minister said.

The Minister of Finance of the Netherlands, Steven van Weyenberg, has congratulated Ukraine on the approval by EU leaders of EUR 50 billion under the Ukraine Facility for 2024-2027. The decision to launch the Ukraine Facility provides predictable financing, most of which will be used to meet Ukraine's budgetary needs.

The parties also stressed that the russian seized assets should become the basis for further financing of the recovery and Ukrainian economic stability in the future. The Minister of Finance of the Netherlands noted that the EU countries are currently actively discussing the possibility of transferring russian assets to Ukraine.

The parties agreed to further develop a constructive dialogue between the countries.
