The Ministry of Finance secured a €150 million grant from the EU for free school meals, reconstruction, and agricultural support

The European Union has allocated EUR 150 million as a grant to Ukraine's State Budget Special Fund.

This funding marks the second tranche under the Financing Agreement between Ukraine and the EU 'Support to Ukraine's fast recovery', which has a total allocation of EUR 300 million.

Ukraine received the first tranche of EUR 150 million in December 2023.

The second tranche will be directed towards:

• Providing free meals for school students in grades 1–4 – EUR 65 million;

• Restoration of port infrastructure – EUR 50 million;

• Supporting uninterrupted agricultural production and access to financing for agricultural producers – EUR 20 million;

• Rebuilding critical infrastructure damaged by russian aggression, including transport systems, critical utilities, social infrastructure, and housing – EUR 15 million.

“The funds will be used to provide free school meals, support critical infrastructure, food security, and reconstruction projects that are vital to Ukraine's recovery. In the face of war, the Ukrainian Government continues to prioritize recovery efforts to ensure comfortable living conditions for its citizens, support businesses, and, ultimately, drive economic recovery. I am grateful to the EU nations and institutions for their steadfast and comprehensive support,” said Ukraine's Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko.
