Ukraine Received USD 1.3 billion from the IMF

Ukraine received USD 1.3 billion from the International Monetary Fund under the Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI). The funds will be directed to finance priority expenditures of the State Budget.

On October 7, 2022, the  IMF Executive Board approved the disbursement in the amount of 50% of Ukraine's quota – SDR 1,005.9 million.

Ukraine was able to receive additional funds due to the extension of the RFI, which was adopted on September 30, 2022 by the Executive Board of the Fund.

“I am deeply grateful to the International Monetary Fund team for supporting Ukraine during the full-scale russian invasion. Through joint efforts with our international partners, we maintain the economic stability of our state, and the Government of Ukraine continues to function fully, ensuring all priority State Budget expenditures,” – said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

The IMF was one of the first responded to the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine and provided assistance in the amount of SDR 1,005.9 million under the RFI at the beginning of March this year.
