​Vasyl Shkurakov has been designated as deputy Minister of Finance

On December 18, the Government appointed Vasyl Shkurakov as deputy Minister of Finance upon request of Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova.

In his new position, Vasyl Shkurakov will be coordinating issues related to the domestic debt, state and local debt guarantees as well as funding for the industry and fiscal risks.

The Ministry of Finance welcomes this decision of the Government, since this appointment will enable the team of the Ministry to react promptly to relevant challenges as well as to be more effective in implementing the necessary reforms in Ukraine.

Vasyl Shkurakov studied at Kharkiv College of Finance and Economics and received his bachelor degree with the specialization “Economics and Business” in 2003. In 2005, he graduated from the Ukrainian State University of Economics and Finance and received his master degree in finance. 
From 2005 until 2017, he worked in various positions at the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. In June 2017 he stepped down voluntarily as the director of the Ministry’s department for debt policy. 
From 2017 until December 2018 he worked as the deputy general director for economics and finance at the private joint-stock company “Ukrgidroenergo”.
