Single account for customs payments will be launched on January 23 in testing mode

On January 23, 2019, the Single Account for customs payments will be launched in the testing mode.

Until February 17, the “single account” will be tested exclusively for Kyiv city and Kyiv oblast customs offices. From February 18 until March 15, it will be tested for all customs offices in Ukraine.

From March 16 until April 15, the transitional phase for the implementation of the “single account” will be running, allowing customers to transfer their customs payments both to the old and to the new accounts.

Starting from April 16, 2019, the “single account” will be mandatory for all companies.

Presently, each customs office has its own account for customs payments, this is why a company customs-clearing its consignments in different customs offices must transfer customs payments to several different accounts.

The “single account” will make this procedure easier, since companies will be able to transfer their advance payments to one account at the SFS, to present customs declarations to any customs office and to make customs payments from a single account with advance funds.

“The implementation of the single account for customs payments will allow to significantly reduce customs clearance duration and to establish a clear procedure for the transfer of customs payments to the state budget. It will also facilitate doing business in Ukraine,” Deputy Minister of Finance Serhiy Verlanov said.

The implementation of the single account for customs payments was decided in 2017 and enacted by the executive order of the Ministry of Finance No. 898 of November 01, 2017 “On the Approval of the Procedure for the Transfer of Customs and Other Payments to the State Budget Prior to or After Customs Clearance”.
