Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko had a telephone conversation with the Executive Vice President of the European Commission for An Economy that Works for People Valdis Dombrovskis. They discussed the reforms in Ukraine, obtaining the 2nd tranche within the framework of the European Commission's Macrofinancial Assistance Program and cooperation with the IMF.

"You are one of the most supportive friends of our country. We thank you for including Ukrainian issues in the agenda of the European Union and helping us implement all the necessary reforms. Yesterday, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a constructive meeting with the IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. And we hope to continue the program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund soon", - Sergii Marchenko said.

Sergii Marchenko and Valdis Dombrovskis discussed progress in the implementation of current agreements, which are a condition for Ukraine to receive macrofinancial assistance from the EU.

The parties agreed to continue a constructive dialogue with Ukraine to receive the 2nd tranche from the EU in September 2021. Also, the Minister of Finance invited the Vice President of the European Commission to a personal meeting in Ukraine on August 23-24.
