Government Regulated the Procedure for Monitoring the Compliance of Certified AEOs in Ukraine

Today, July 7, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decree "On Amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No 665 dated July 29, 2020", which settled some issues of the functioning of Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), such as the procedure for monitoring the compliance of enterprises with the criteria for AEO.

This regulation will ensure control by customs authorities over the activities of certified AEOs after they receive appropriate authorization and application of special simplifications.

The introduction of monitoring procedures in the previously introduced AEO program in Ukraine is consistent with international practice and will contribute to a balance between the simplification of procedures in foreign trade and ensuring proper control over compliance with the legislation on customs matters.

The monitoring procedure should ensure active interaction between certified AEOs and customs authorities, promote the AEO program, and become an effective tool on the way to mutual recognition of Ukrainian AEOs by other countries of the world.

These changes were developed by the Ministry of Finance jointly with the Customs Service with the support of the Reform Support Office under the Ministry of Finance and the EU4PFM program.
