Sergii Marchenko and Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański discussed preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Poland

Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko held a meeting with Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Domański. The parties discussed issues related to financial support for Ukraine, cooperation in recovery and economic development, Ukraine’s European integration, as well as preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Poland.

The meeting was also attended by Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Piotr Łukasiewicz, representatives of the Polish ministries of finance and economic development, as well as the Polish development bank – Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).

Sergii Marchenko thanked the Polish side for its comprehensive support of Ukraine since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion. According to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, as of April 2026, Poland’s total assistance to Ukraine amounts to approximately EUR 5.9 billion, or 1% of the country’s GDP.

The Minister of Finance of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Poland for its contributions to international support mechanisms for Ukraine, including the World Bank and IMF funds, as well as for supporting the EU’s Ukraine Facility instrument and the macro-financial assistance mechanism under the ERA initiative. Sergii Marchenko also emphasized the importance of continued financial support from the European Union through the new EUR 90 billion Ukraine Support Loan instrument for 2026–2027, which is an important element of the country’s macro-financial stability and economic resilience.

The parties discussed preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which Poland will host in Gdańsk on June 25–26.

“Poland has remained one of Ukraine’s key partners since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion. We highly appreciate Poland’s decision to host the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, as well as the Steering Committee meeting of the Ukraine Donor Platform, as important platforms for strengthening international coordination and mobilizing resources for Ukraine’s recovery and support for reforms on its path toward EU membership,” said Sergii Marchenko.

The parties also discussed cooperation with the Polish development bank BGK and the export credit agency KUKE regarding support for Ukraine’s recovery projects, including municipal infrastructure, energy, transport, and private sector development.

In addition, the parties reviewed Ukraine’s progress toward EU membership and the reforms necessary to accelerate European integration.

Andrzej Domański reaffirmed Poland’s readiness to continue supporting Ukraine’s financial resilience, recovery efforts, and European integration.
