Deputy Minister of Finance Olena Makeyeva participated at the Forum "The Day of Ukrainian Business"

14-15 May 2015, the International Forum “The Day of Ukrainian Business” took place in Warsaw. High officials from Ukraine and Poland and representatives of business environment discussed the process of reform implementation towards eurointegration and improvement of the business climate in Ukraine.

The Forum was held under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland, with the support of The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland. A total of 300 participants were in attendance.

Key questions that were discussed during the event included the Ukrainian government's readiness to conduct reforms aimed at eurointegration according to the EU standards and the creation of catalysts for activisation of business activity and improvement of investment climate in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine was represented at the Forum by Deputy Minister Olena Makeyeva. The Ukrainian delegation consisted of Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yuliya Klymenko, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine Vladyslav Rashkov, Head of the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine Kseniya Liapina. Deputy Minister of Economy of Republic of Poland Andzhey Dykha spoke on behalf of the Republic of Poland. The Ambassadors of both countries, Andrii Deshchycia and Henrik Litwin, as well as other high officials of Ukraine and Poland participated in the Forum.

Olena Makeyeva spoke about work strategic directions: reforming of fiscal services and implementation of tax reform.

Separate discussions were held on specific questions regarding taxation, specificially, the electronic administration of VAT, improvement of custom procedures, requirements for transfer pricing and the criminal liability of tax payers.

Geographical, infrastructural and social-economical particularities of the regions of Ukraine, advantages of business activity, practical experience of mastering the Ukrainian market and investment projects, that can be implemented in Poland, were also discussed during the Forum.
