Total Volume of the European Investment Bank's Projects in Ukraine Amounted to more than EUR 7.5 billion

The online review of the portfolio of projects of the European Investment Bank took place on May 18.

In the course of the meeting, the representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the European Investment Bank discussed the current state of preparation and realization of joint projects. Also, they coordinated the plan of measures for the next period. The representatives discussed the problematic issues of the implemented projects in Ukraine and then agreed upon the further steps in their elimination.

The total volume of financial resources provided by the European Investment Bank in Ukraine in the public and private sectors amounts to more than EUR 7.5 billion since 2004. Currently, the EIB`s project portfolio in the public sector is comprised of 25 projects totaling EUR 5.27 billion.

Oleksandr Kava noted that the credit resources provided by the EIB are a crucial source of funding for state development projects. "We highly appreciate the support of our international partners including EIB in the development of the public sector of the Ukrainian economy. Today the EIB's project portfolio in the public sector is the largest among the IFIs", - said the Deputy Minister.

Common projects with the European Investment Bank are aimed at improving roads in Ukraine, the modernization of the energy sector, the development of municipal, aviation, and railway infrastructure, the development of transport logistics, support for small and medium business, rehabilitation of social infrastructure in Donetsk and Luhansk and other regions of Ukraine.
