Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk meets the IMF technical mission

On July 11, Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk had a meeting with the IMF technical mission to Ukraine.

The parties discussed the implementation of reforms at the State Fiscal Service.

The delegation of the IMF department for taxes and budget arrived to Ukraine to assess the reforms at the SFS and to elaborate recommendations to them.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the implementation of the key performance indicators (KPIs) elaborated by the Ministry of Finance. These KPIs reflect the expectations of private business in regard to the structural transformations at the SFS. Another point on the meeting’s agenda was the removal of excessive functions and release of inefficient SFS employees (first of all, reduction of auxiliary regional staff) as well as the use of the spared costs for salary increase.

“We presented our plan to reform the SFS and our priorities. We also discussed the implementation of this plan with the IMF. It’s time to make concrete steps and to deliver results which would be tangible for business”, Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk said.

To tackle abuse of office at the SFS, the Ministry of Finance is developing additional tools to protect taxpayers’ rights. It is also planned to launch a one-level system for processing taxpayers’ claims.
