​Oksana Markarova leads the Ukrainian delegation at the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group

On October 8, acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova leading the Ukrainian delegation and Yuriy Butsa, Government’s Commissioner for Public Debt Management, started their work at the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group taking place in Bali this year. The other members of the Ukrainian delegation are head of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakiv Smoliy, acting Healthcare Minister Ulyana Suprun, Deputy Executive Director of the World Bank representing Ukraine Roman Kachur and Deputy Executive Director of the IMF representing Ukraine Vladyslav Rashkovan.

The Annual Meetings will be taking place till October 14. They bring together ministers of finance and government officials from different countries, leading bankers, scientists, business and public representatives to assess the development prospects of the global economy and to discuss global challenges facing single countries and the world.

The main subject for discussion at the Annual Meetings this year is the inclusive economy of the future.

During the Annual Meetings, acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oksana Markarova will meet with international partners including Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank Kristalina Georgieva, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller and First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF David Lipton.

“We will discuss the implementation of innovations by state bodies, the new level of openness of the state based on open data as well as healthcare, education and public service reforms whose core objective is to enable our people to enable their enormous potential in full. We have a lot of problems to struggle with, but we do not have hurdles which can’t be overcome by human talent, intellect and spirit. And I will be proud telling our partners about Ukrainian citizens who are transforming our country and the world,“ Oksana Markarova said.

The acting Minister of Finance of Ukraine will also participate in thematic events and round tables for ministers.
