Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko attended business meeting arranged by US Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine

On September 10, the Ukrainian minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko held a working meeting with representatives of companies which are member of the US Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

The event had been arranged to continue and to enhance the productive dialogue with the Ukrainian business community. The main topic of the meeting was the tax reform, whose draft the Ministry of Finance presented on September 3 at the meeting of the National Council for Reforms, as well as other aspects which are important for the business community and belong to the competence of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

In her introductory speech Natalie Jaresko expressed her gratitude to the member companies of the US Chamber of Commerce for their support for the reforms in Ukraine in such a hard environment and described her vision of the key principles and objectives of the tax reform, emphasized its most important innovations and answered the questions of the participants about the specifics of the reform implementation.

«I am very grateful to all participants of the meeting for their questions, proposals and willingness to closely cooperate with the government to build up a simple, efficient, fair and transparent tax system. We are open for a public discussion of the tax reform draft as a part of the comprehensive national dialogue. I am sure that, as a result of this discussion, this reform will really enjoy support from the major part of the nation», the Minister of Finance declared.

According to Andriy Gunder, the President of the US Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, the tax reform is a very important issue for the member-companies of the Chamber which brings together the biggest tax payers. That is why the US Chamber of Commerce is interested in establishing fair, clear and transparent rules.

The Minister of Finance replied: «We are well aware how important it is for business that the tax system creates equal conditions for all players on the market". According to Natalie Jaresko, creating equal conditions for companies in different industries is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Finance and its draft of the tax reform.
