Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko commented to Bloomberg TV

Today Sergii Marchenko told Bloomberg about the economic situation in Ukraine and the support of international partners.

Sergii Marchenko noted that the support of the EU, the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, and other international partners is very important for Ukraine. Together we can overcome all existing challenges.

Now Ukraine has limited access to the international markets. However, the outperformance of the budget revenues and created liquidity buffer gives the Ministry confidence. This January the Ministry of Finance exceeded budget revenues by more than UAH 9 billion.

Ukraine is currently negotiating with the U.S. Treasury about the possibility of getting credit guarantees for Ukraine. And it is not only about money but also it is the positive signal that can calm down the markets.

We hope that the next IMF mission to Ukraine will start soon. The current program assumes two tranches of USD 2.2 billion, and Ukraine continues implementing structural reforms to get it.
