Despite the Financial Crisis Caused by the COVID-19, Revenues to Local Budgets Continue to Grow

In January-June this year, the general fund of local budgets (excluding intergovernmental transfers) received UAH 131.5 billion. The increase in revenues compared to January-June last year (in comparable conditions and excluding territories not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities) amounted to 2.1% or + UAH 2.7 billion.

The growth rate of actual personal income tax revenues (PIT) for the first half of 2020 is 5%. Among the 13 regions with a Personal Income Tax (PIT) growth rate higher than the average in Ukraine, 3 provided an increase of more than 8%.

The total amount of PIT revenues for the first half of 2020 amounted to UAH 81 billion, the increase in revenues compared to January-June last year is UAH 3.8 billion.

Revenues from land fees amounted to UAH 13.3 billion, which is 14.5% or UAH 2.3 billion less than in the first half of 2020. This is mainly due to the temporary exemption from paying this tax to local budgets.

Actual real estate tax revenues in January-June 2020 amounted to UAH 2.3 billion. The increase in revenues compared to January-June last year was 7.7%, which is UAH 161.9 million more than last year.

Revenues of the single tax for January-June 2020 amounted to UAH 17.7 billion. The increase in revenues compared to the comparable period last year is 9.6%, or UAH 1.6 billion more.
