Sergii Marchenko met with Delegation of Heads of French Companies, members of MEDEF

Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko met with a delegation of executives of French member companies of the international division of the Association of French Enterprises MEDEF. The delegation is headed by the President of MEDEF Geoffroy Roux de Bezieux and the President of the France-Ukraine Business Leaders Council of MEDEF International, CEO of EGIS Laurent Germain.

Participants of the meeting discussed the current state of the economic and financial situation in Ukraine, cooperation with international financial organizations, tax issues, privatization of Ukrainian state-owned banks, and investments in infrastructure development.

"Over the last 5 months, we have increased state budget revenues by UAH 18 billion. Also, despite COVID-19, we have managed to restrict the budget deficit. The key factor in this issue is the cooperation with international partners. We are working to obtain the next tranche from the IMF - the Parliament has to pass all necessary laws to continue cooperation soon. In addition, subject to certain obligations, we are expecting to get macro-financial assistance from the European Union", - said Sergii Marchenko.

Vice-President of Airbus Helicopters Jacques Garrigue asked about plans of aviation infrastructure development and aircraft construction. Sergii Marchenko noted that Ukraine aims at developing state aircraft manufacturing plant Antonov. Also, in the future, we plan to create an airline that will operate only domestically produced aircraft. Minister invited Jacques Garrigue to participate in investments in the development of the aviation sphere.

The sides discussed the privatization of banks in Ukraine. The Minister noted that one of the priority state-owned banks is "Privatbank".

"This year we received UAH 24 billion dividends from" Privatbank ". We are also proud of the independent Supervisory Board of the bank, headed by the Chairman, who is from the United States. Now we are working on the completion of the privatization of the "Oshchadbank". It is an essential condition for attracting investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to the bank's capital, "- said the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.

The delegation asked about the development of public-private partnerships in Ukraine. Sergii Marchenko noted that the Ministry of Finance supports the bill on public-private partnerships and the idea of cooperation between the Ministry and enterprises.
