Sergii Marchenko Met with the Newly Appointed US Ambassador to Ukraine

On June 8, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with the newly appointed US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine Bridget Brink.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Olga Zykova, Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa and USAID Mission Director James Hope.

Sergii Marchenko congratulated Bridget Brink on her appointment and thanked her for the systematic support of our state.

"I am grateful to you and the Government of the United States for your unwavering support and clear stance at this historic time. Ukraine-US friendship has been tested for years. And today, during the most difficult test in our history, the United States is providing unprecedented assistance to Ukraine in defeating the aggressor", said Sergii Marchenko.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the economic and financial situation of Ukraine in wartime and agreed on further cooperation and ongoing dialogue to support Ukraine in the war against Russia.

In May this year, US President Joe Biden signed the Law that provides additional funding in 2022 to respond to the situation in Ukraine and provide assistance to Ukraine in the amount of USD 40 billion. Of this, USD 7.5 billion is the direct budget support.
