The Parliament Appointed Sergii Marchenko as the New Minister of Finance

On March 30, the Parliament of Ukraine appointed Sergiy Marchenko as a Minister of Finance of Ukraine.

Today Sergii Marchenko was introduced as the new Minister of Finance of Ukraine. "It is especially important to strengthen the fiscal framework of the state in this time of crisis. Effective work of the Tax and Customs Services is crucial as never before. The key criteria of this effectiveness are the revenues of the state budget because the government has to fulfill its responsibilities to the citizens, especially to those most vulnerable", - said the Minister during his first speech.

At the same time, he emphasized that the tax policy must be rational and pragmatic, aimed at the protection and development of the Ukrainian economy. These objectives will require new approaches to stimulate the business.

Sergii Marchenko also emphasized the importance of fulfillment of the commitments to the international partners while keeping in mind the interests of the Ukrainian citizens.
