Ukraine will receive USD 1.4 billion from the IMF

The Board of Executive Directors of the International Monetary Fund has voted in favor of allocating additional financing to Ukraine under the Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI).

The RFI instrument allows for 50% of the quota of an IMF member state, which amounts to SDR 1 billion (approximately USD 1.4 billion) for Ukraine.

"I thank the IMF representatives for the quick response to our request, as well as to the team of the Government and the Ministry of Finance who made it possible in the shortest possible time," said Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko.

The Government of Ukraine requested additional funding from the IMF at the end of February 2022 due to the beginning of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
