Ukraine will receive more than USD 2.7 billion from the IMF for economic recovery

Ukraine will receive USD 2.7 billion due to the reallocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDR) as part of the IMF's assistance to member countries in economic recovery after the pandemic coronavirus. This decision was taken by the IMF Board of Governors at the proposal of the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

SDRs may be converted into currency and used to finance the budget in this budget period or retained to provide funding for the budget in subsequent budget periods.

On August 2, the IMF Board of Governors decided to distribute USD 650 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) to countries to help rebuild the global economy affected by the coronavirus pandemic. It is the largest SDR distribution in the history of the Fund.

Ukraine continues cooperation with the IMF and takes measures for the implementation of reforms and fulfillment of obligations undertaken within the framework of the Stand-by program with the IMF.
