Ukraine received €4.1 billion from the EU under the Ukraine Facility

Today, on 18 December, the State Budget of Ukraine received a EUR 4.1 billion tranche from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility financial instrument. Of this, €1.5 billion is a grant.

The funds will be used to cover the priority needs of the State Budget in the social and humanitarian spheres.

“Thanks to the effective implementation of new policies by the Government and coordinated work with EU representatives, Ukraine has successfully attracted all tranches under the Ukraine Facility for this year. Thus, in 2024, direct budget support from the European Union will reach more than EUR 16 billion, making the EU the largest donor among all international partners,” said Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko.

By the end of the third quarter, Ukraine has met nine indicators set out in the Ukraine Plan. This made it possible to attract the relevant tranche in time and in full.

The measures implemented were aimed at improving and integrating Ukraine into the EU in key areas such as the fight against corruption, the business environment, the labour market, regional policy, the energy market, and environmental protection.

The Ukraine Facility provides about EUR 12.5 billion in financial support until 2025.
