Ukraine Received EUR 500 million of Macro-Financial Assistance From the EU

Today, December 14, Ukraine received the final tranche of the exceptional eighth EU Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) in the amount of EUR 500 million. The total funding under this program is EUR 5 billion.

"Since the start of the full-scale war, the European Union has provided Ukraine with EUR 7.2 billion of Macro-Financial Assistance. These funds helped to overcome the negative economic consequences of the war and preserve the stability of the financial system during the full-scale invasion. I thank EU colleagues for consistent and systematic support of Ukraine," said the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

Loan assistance will be directed to financing the most urgent expenses of the State Budget and will contribute to the maintenance of financial stability in Ukraine.

Ukraine received the first tranche of EUR 2 billion in October 2022, the second tranche of EUR 2.5 billion was directed to the State Budget of Ukraine in November.
