Sergii Marchenko held an Online Meeting with the U.S. First Deputy Secretary of Treasury Wally Adeyemo

The decision of the United States to provide Ukraine with USD 500 million in grant aid to fund the state budget is an important step in support of Ukraine in the midst of Russia's full-scale military invasion.

Sergii Marchenko said this during an online meeting with the U.S. First Deputy Secretary of Treasury Wally Adeyemo. Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova and Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa also took part in the meeting.

The U.S. grant is the result of several negotiations between the parties, both at the Presidential level and between the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Also, the parties discussed existing instruments of financial support for Ukraine, including the recently announced International Monetary Fund Administered Account created for Ukraine to receive funds from donor countries and international financial institutions.

Representatives of the United States Treasury assured of their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
